Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas, the mountain's summit crossers the border of China and Nepal. The mountains that surround it are Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and MakaluIts. Mt Everest's longitude and latitude is 27.9881° N, 86.9253° E. It reached at about 8,488 meters above sea level and grows two inches every year because of the Indian-Australian Plate and the Eurasian plate still moving into China, making Mount Everest the highest mountain on Earth. Although Mount Everest is the tallest mountain from sea level to summit. Mauna Kea, located in Hawaii is the tallest mountain from base to summit reaching up to 9,750 metres. The active volcano is not the tallest mountain from sea level to summit, but underwater it is the tallest from base to summit.
